I am on week #3 of having "green" smoothies for breakfast Monday through Friday. On the weekends, I need a break and go with an egg or a bowl of cereal. It is crazy when a bowl of rice kris pies with some raisins feels like an indulgence! I have come up with two favorite recipes that I have been switching between. The key to getting a smooth smoothie - is to put in the greens and the liquid first. Blend those until smooth before adding the frozen fruit. I add the chia seeds straight to my glass so they don't get stuck in the blender.
Green Smoothie #1
1 1/2 cup almond milk
1-2 cups spinach
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 avocado
1 tablespoon chia seeds
Blue Smoothie #1
1 1/2 cup almond milk
1-2 cups spinach
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 avocado
1 tablespoon chia seeds
